Dr. W. Bruce Shingleton is a board-certified urologist with more than 30 years of experience caring for patients with a wide range of urologic conditions. Throughout his career, he has been committed to combining leading-edge technology with compassionate, personalized care to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Shingleton earned both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from North Carolina State University before receiving his Master of Public Health from the University of South Carolina. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from East Carolina University School of Medicine and completed advanced surgical and urologic training at Emory University, Duke University, the University of Minnesota, and Case Western Reserve University.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Shingleton has held numerous leadership and academic positions, including serving as Professor of Urology and Medical Director of Ambulatory Care Urology Services at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. He has also cared for patients and trained future physicians at leading medical institutions across the country.
Dr. Shingleton has a special interest in minimally invasive urologic procedures and has dedicated much of his career to advancing the treatment of kidney tumors and other complex urologic conditions. His research has helped shape modern approaches to kidney cancer treatment, and he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and national and international presentations. Despite his extensive accomplishments, Dr. Shingleton’s greatest priority remains providing thoughtful, individualized care that helps patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their treatment decisions.
Dr. Shingleton is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Urological Association, the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association, and the Endourology Society.
