Dr. Wells completed his Medical Oncology and Hematology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in 2014 where he also completed medical school and residency training.  He has been in the Augusta area since 2002.  Since completing his fellowship, he worked locally at University Medical Oncology Associates which is now the Georgia Cancer Center Downtown Practice.  He joins AO Multispecialty Clinic Associates in June 2020.  He is a native of central Georgia having grown up in the small, rural town of Alamo.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Wells took a year off between his second and third year of medical school to move back to Alamo to help take care of his mother who was newly diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer.  Through that experience, he learned what patients and families experience on a personal, more intimate level.  He also learned that being a Medical Oncologist was his calling.  He not only desires for patients to get appropriate treatment, but he desires to walk with them through the journey.

Dr. Wells is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  He is an Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta.

When he is away from work, he is spending time with his lovely wife Marcey and their 4 beautiful children.
