Derek LaFont is originally from southeastern Louisiana – “pure Cajun” – and relocated to Atlanta since 2003 to attend Physician Assistant school at Emory. He graduated with honors in 2005, after which he accepted a position with Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers and began working in February of 2006.

Derek has continued his career in Medical Oncology and looks forward to continuing “to practice with the excellent staff at AO Multispecialty Clinic.”  Derek’s passion is helping patients with medical oncology and hematologic needs.  His time away from oncology is spent with wife and daughters.  Derek enjoys reading, cooking, video gaming, and exercising.
